EDM 9 - Draw a bit of "organized chaos" - your messy desk, your table stacked with books, etc.
This bit of organised chaos lives in a little alcove in my dining room. Once we get proper shelves and these books, cds, records and empty boxes go elsewhere, then I'm sure I can find some more choas to store here. This is a pencil drawing on 230 gsm watercolour paper.

Woman's Face in Pencil
Here is another face I drew and shaded recently on 230 gsm watercolour paper. I think it is on this type of paper because I was actually going to paint her but then I got carried away with my pencil. She looks a bit feisty does she not? Maybe because one eye looks different from the other.
Drawings, Sketches and Doodles in Pencil
Here are some more random faces I've been drawing. One day I will attempt to paint a face in watercolour but I would like it to have an interesting angle or composition. I can only seem to draw faces looking straight ahead and you can see from this practise page that I've been trying a few different face angles, but they're not very good! Also, for some reason I've developed an interest in hairstyles from the 1920s so you might see some influence in these sketches.
Sorry for the drawings you can see through the page. It's this thin newsprint paper pad that I'm using.
EDM 3 - Purses, Wallets or Bags
This is my third EDM challenge and I decided to draw my black handbag. It's an everyday small one that I just chuck a few things in and head out the door with. It's a little bit scruffy but has served me quite well for a few years.
I decided to try a new medium for this challenge since the bag is all black. I chose a Derwent Dark Charcoal Pencil and it did an excellent job I think. When I needed places on the drawing to be really black, it worked a charm with very little elbow grease needed.
Despite being very messy and rubbing off very easily I do like the look of the charcoal pencil and may use it again for another suitable subject. After all that, here is the drawing:
Pencil Drawings of Various Faces
Just doodling and having fun. I rarely get the eyes to look decent when I draw faces.
