Hi I'm Stacey-Ann Cole and I use watercolours to create the type of art that I would like to see more of. I enjoy painting black women who inspire all women to enjoy life's little moments, to seek joy and harmony in everyday life. My work sometimes has a whimsical quality to it and has been described as pure and innocent as well as rich in colour and very expressive. I love creating art that captures the beauty and complexity of black women and hopefully encourages them to see these qualities in themselves.
I also create to show my daughter that there is art out there that she can relate to and to show my son that he doesn't have to be afraid to do the things that feed his soul and share them with the world - because someone out there will respond.
